Day 21
This morning we had our monthly ladies club for which the theme was ethnic or traditional.
As I had mentioned earlier I am a bong who hesitates in draping a taant or a dhakai due to the simple reason it makes me look bloated than I already am. So out came this beautiful wine chanderi with golden motifs of clubs as in a pack of cards worn with some gold jewellery and the customary bindi and sindoor. Worn here with a red brocade blouse.
Chanderi silks were considered the fabric of choice for sarees produced for royalty due to its light weight quality and intricate designs. Lately Chanderis have become one of the most sought after fabrics and the production of this textile is specific to the town of Chanderi in Madhya Pradesh.
So even though Chanderis are sheer still the feeling of wearing the same fabric as royalty dips the scale in favour of Chanderis.
