The sari today is a brown Dhakai. It belonged to my Hashi Dimma. I wanted to wear one of her saris today as it was a day to remember her. And this sepia-coloured one seemed perfect for the occasion. Today’s accessories…pearls. I got a lot of pearls for my wedding, each of them different and beautiful in its own way. This strand was my wedding gift from Thamma, actually my cousin’s grandmother. The earrings were a gift from Mami on my last birthday. The bangle is my mother-in-law’s. The watch is a favourite, a gift from my Mimi. And last but not the least, the wooden juda pin is a gift from Matu.
