It was an evening to remember – the ladies of our community gathering on a saree date. To celebrate the saree.
A visual delight it was, a potpourri of sarees from the far – flung corners of our incredible country in a myriad of radiant hues – stunning kanjeevarams , resplendent banarasis, gorgeous paithanis, tanchois from grandma’s closets, an heirloom mekhla-chador in pristine white and gold and many more.
And if the sarees and the colors werent enough to mesmerise you, the variety of drapes was for sure going to leave you speechless. (Did you know for example that the Iyer style of draping a saree was different from the Iyengar style ?)
And there was I in my favorite black dhakai jamdani draped in the traditional Bengali style, so proud of being a part of sareepact 4/100 #100sareepact
