Day 48. Went to a movie together after almost a year. I knew it had been long but didn’t realise so long. That time it was Filmistan. This time it was Piku. That time it was followed by dinner at Smokehouse Deli. This time dinner was rasam, masala-stuffed potol and meen moilee made by yours truly. That time it had been a belated anniversary celebration. This time it was a celebration of Achintya’s recovery from a fractured ankle, surgery and subsequent house arrest.
The sari on both occasions was the same. This cotton from Bunkari India was a gift from Ma Jhulan Bhattacharya on my last anniversary. I love how the bright orange gamchha-like aanchal and blouse add a dash of colour to the otherwise muted sari.
The accessories too were the same, well almost. The neckpiece and earrings are from Eustacia by Srirupa. The moment I saw them, I knew they would go perfectly with this sari. The khonpar kata or juda pin, however is new – once again a gift from my colleague Samabrita. What remained unchanged from one Sunday to another a year later was the joy of sharing, of spending time with each other.
