A lot my sarees have been gifts from friends and family. My husband has gifted me the best of my sarees. But ever since the ‪#‎100sareepact‬, everyone knows what to gift Anju Such beautiful sarees have come to me as gifts. And with so much love.
This saree is a gift from a very dear friend, Anuradha SenGupta. She came on a visit from Mumbai for a weekend and presented me with this unusual combination, Madras cotton saree. I’ve been waiting to wear it for a while now and tell you the story of Anuradha.
A top notch television producer and presenter, she has put in years of hard work to bring worthy programming to Indian television. We started our careers together, she & I, and a lot of others. We also worked together for many years. I had a tight team that worked on business programming with me and we set the stage for a lot of programs to come.
Every visit to Mumbai, I meet my work family and we reminisce about night edits, brun pao & chai mornings, crazy shoot schedules and even crazier personalities we’ve shot with.
Every time I return from a trip to Mumbai, I leave a little piece of my heart behind, because of these people, who helped me come into my own and negotiate work and life on my terms. They kept me grounded and real.
To my Plus Channel family, thank you.
