Hi, all,

I am a fashion blogger, and I love experimenting with clothes. On one such experimental evening, I stumbled upon this old suitcase safely preserved by my mom. While I asked her what was in it, she just mumbled, “sarees.” Curiously, I opened the suitcase to find old silk sareees. They were old but weren’t damaged or bad. They were all as clean and as fresh as new.

I took one of the most lovely looking ones out of it. It was a big maroon bordered green saree. Cliched combination, I thought. Those were the sarees that belong to my mom, aunt, and sisters from their wedding times. My mom casually mentioned that this particular saree was 21 years old and it was bought at 5000 bucks back then, and buying the same quality now might cost me more than an iPhone 6.

I was amused. I asked her, “why can’t we sell these, if we don’t use it?” She chided me and told, “Generally resale value for clothes is very less. Also, these are memories. I hope someday, you wear them.”

I was staring at the saree for a long time. The blouse was loose for me. The saree looked very old-fashioned. Also, the big borders might make me look fat. Then, out of the blue, an idea struck me. Recreate the magic, I thought. I dressed up just like those old filmy times and it was indeed gorgeous and eternally stylish.
