Saree that brought back nostalgic moments…
The Colour is a bit confusing this time!
It reflects a unique mixture of brown, golden green and a dash of pista green !!
Since morning was in “3” minds how to position this unusual colour of this beautiful 3/100 of #100sareepact of today
Saree Story
One of my Durga Puja saree collections
As a Bengali, since childhood we were offered new clothes during Poila Boishakh (Bengali New Year), a MUST for Shoshtthi (The first day of Durga festival), Durga Puja days & Birthday.
This was a prized possession of one such Durga Puja 2007, gifted by my father !!
This chiffon saree has a shiny effect with a subtle golden border that runs parallel with the painted green abstract design. In the body there are colourful paintings portraying floral designs.
The Moment/Occasion
As shared earlier, this was one of my Puja collections.
Suddenly surfing through FB found a beautiful capture, the first day/moment when I wore this chiffon back 2007. As a family during Durga Puja festival, we always had a custom of watching Goddess Durga idols, and Pandal hopping whole night.
I clearly remember despite knowing we have to walk for long, I chose this saree to show how comfortable and happy I look in this attire!!!
Well today I wore the same saree in my office.
One of my colleagues, Arundati took these candid shots and helped me to update these moments.
With you I thought of sharing the moment of yesteryears vis a vis today’s pose in the office scenario.
This saree just took me back 8years instantly and brought back those nostalgic moments with family!
Jhelum, you are so beautiful. It takes a unique person to carry this unique saree well. And it looks lovely on you. Fantastic pairing, as well! Waiting for more!
I love wearing saree and adored the idea of 100 saree pact. it is really a very novel and interesting idea of promoting saree, which is the most graceful, elegant and glamarous costume of our country. Lets all join hands in keeping the tradition of wearing saree intact.
