There was a time when marraiges used to bore me! But then that was another era altogether. Now I love marrraiges, especially when they are in the family. It means getting to spend time with the people you love, apart running around doing chores, the late night gossip, the wedding shopping, food tasting and all the fun things you get to do with your cousins 😀

It was my cousin Abhishek Iyer’s marraige and being a tambram family we (my Chittappa, Chitti, Amma, the bride, bridegroom and a few others) raided the Nallis at Matunga for the wedding trouseou. Well how could one resist buying a couple of sarees for oneself when in ‘saree heaven’. I wanted to pick up something different and it seems the mama who was showing us the sarees read my mind. As soon as he got this brilliant black n dull gold jute silk saree in bold geometric design, it was love at first sight. My heart jumped out and did a quick crazy dance as my sweet Chittappa and Chitti sweetly volunteered to buy it for me 😀 After the huge saree shopping spree we of course went to Rama Nayak’s and gorged down their delicious thali.

This was five years back and I wore this saree again at my cousin’s wedding in February this year. These are some throwback pictures clicked with my most sweetest nephew Cheenu, my sister by choice Rashmi Sharma and other family members at the wedding.
