Today is DAY 13 of
the ‪#‎100sareepact for me! Thank you
so much dear Anju Maudgal Kadam, Ally Matthan, and Sudha Sekhar, for including
us on this wonderful journey!

Today, I’m wearing
Majenta (Rani Colour as some like to call it) and Maroon! These colours always
bring back fond memories of my late Father in law ( whom I would address as
“Papaji”). He loved seeing me in these rich colours and we shared a
beautiful bond of affection, especially since my husband is an only child!

As a young bride,
30 years ago, he would walk me down to the Bus -Stand every morning and see me
safely on the School Bus! He counselled me about financial prudence and life in
general and insisted that I take my lunch box to School and not try to diet!

When he had his
first heart attack I took him to the hospital, took leave from School, left my
two kids aged 7 and 3years old with my Mum in law, and in the days that
followed, spent the whole day at the Hospital caring for him. I only went home
in the evening to be with my kids, when my Mum in law took over!

When he was ready
to go home, people at the hospital enquired:” Is she your daughter or your
daughter in law?

“You can
consider her as either,” replied my Father in law,”But since you
asked, she is really our daughter in law and dearer than a daughter to
us!”

That was the BEST
COMPLIMENT I ever got in my entire life!

I love you Papaji
and I miss you so much!
