Today I decided that I will post the story with my mom featuring in it….. She was to ride with me to visit her brother who stays near my office and arrived all bright and beautiful in this yellow saree from her house. A jute cotton saree, my daughter selected for her…..A no occasion saree (they are the best gifts)

I look like my dad, everyone would say that, inherited his features and many of his orderly traits…including his culinary skills of turning out the perfect Vathakozhambu and urulai roast. I don’t like to cook as much as I like to eat, though

My boss from my longest (12 years) and best lived career at HP, Asha Shivashankar, had come home for my son’s Poonal. Her observation that many of my people skills, my grooming and the innate sense of humor was a clear inheritance from my mom, was an eye opener!!!

I think back at all the things she has done for me and my siblings and instilled the right values, trust, ethics and education in us and asked us to lead our lives as we see fit. I am ever thankful to God for making her my mom!! I truly believe that God created mothers because he can’t be there everywhere!!!! She rues the fact that she couldn’t afford to give us better things earlier and goes overboard now, when our wants and needs are a lot less. My daughter’s favorite person in the whole world, my Mom!! — with Asha Shivashankar, Ally Matthan and Mallika Ravi.
