The loot from Vimor on the Karnataka bandh day, couldn’t keep my hands off this one. Had to drape it the very next day.

Having spent every summer vacations at my aaji’s house in Mumbai, when my turn came to fly out of the nest, I naturally choose the place where I had pleasant memories of being pampered. I left home when I was 19, went to Mumbai to study and then continued working there for years. Though the city is dotted with relatives from both paternal and maternal side every few meters, I chose to rent my own apartment and lived absolutely independent life. During those years, I put together a beautiful house of my own, had a well set-up kitchen and had decorated the house with antique furniture. I was in a happy place, contented in the little cocoon I had spun for myself until one day I met love. I started dreaming of a life with this boy from namma ooru. The life I had put together painstakingly piece by piece could not contain the overflowing emotions. Marriage was never on the cards, but who can have their way when the heart makes up its mind 😉 Moved to Bangalore and over the years have found happiness beyond words. It’s been 12 years since I moved to namma ooru, but the samundar ki pukaar tugs at my heartstrings at times. As they say, you can take a girl out of Mumbai, but not Mumbai out of a girl. Whereas, my man, is a third generation Bengaluru huduga. He loves everything about his city, he can never think of living anywhere but Bangalore. No American, European or Mumbai dreams can lure him ever. 🙂
It’s IPL season and last night was RCB v/s Mumbai Indians, and like always, we had to make the evening special. Booked a table for 6 at a restaurant with good food and live match screening. Our table was divided into two teams and of course my hubby and I were cheering for the opposite teams 😉 Every ‘sixer’, ‘four’ or an ‘out’ brought celebrations and cheer!!
We ended the day on the note – “Divided by States, United by Kingfisher”.

Incidentally, the saree I choose represented both the teams. No matter how much I would like to believe that I’m a complete amchi mulgi, the fact remains that the colours of namma ooru has blended into the fabric of my life to make an exquisite design that I have fallen in love with. 🙂
