The story behind this saree
This picture was taken on my birthday last year at Gandhi Ghat on the banks the Ganga. I had been there on an official trip to train engineering students at Patna and this was the first time I was alone without my family on the morning of my birthday. I felt quite low so I decided that the best way to lift my spirits in the chilly weather would be an early morning visit to the Ganges and take her blessings. I must say that she blessed me with strength that I would need to bear my personal loss a couple of months later. This white and red bordered tangail saree was presented to me by a colleague who stood by me during my loss. According to me, the colour white stands for the purity and red for strength in friendship.
