Early morning breakfast meeting with awesome creative ideas oozing out over the fluffiest omelettes and crunchy bagel sandwiches at Indigo Deli… Thats how the day started.
Of course there was a saree involved in all of this.

Am not a subscriber of synthetic materials at all… Was taught to use textiles as per weather, climate, comfort etc… Thank God! For that.
However this is a gorgette which got tied in front of me by a family of leheriya knotters… Which then went to a household across the road for dyeing.
And the sight of the sarees drying in the sun….to die for!

All of this while I was at a place called ‘Bawron ki Galli’ in Rajasthan… How does one come back empty hand when so much skill and craftmanship has gone into it. How does one come back empty hand when you realise the knotters and dyers are of different communities, no intercaste marriage allowed but there is an art and economy which binds them
