We bought this saree from an exhibition of Vimor sarees in Indiranagar some 20 years ago. I hadn’t even heard of Vimor then. Like most times when Amma selected this, I thought this saree was dull. I have worn it my previous offices and used to wear it with black, making it even more dull. I switched over to an dull orange checked blouse and then found my versatile blouse! This goes with SOooo many sarees, it’s almost like I can’t do without it.

Lekha, this is one of the first blouses that I got made from Nita. It has a nice design on the back and no, I won’t pose for the back cos my office collagues on FB already think I am insane

I’d stopped for breakfast at Amma’s place. With me is Kausalaya, my Daai. Over 30 years ago, she joined our family and has always treated me like her oldest, bathed, fed and plaited my hair while my mom was at work. When I was down with chickenpox this Jan, she treated me like a baby, feeding me and consoling me when I cried in pain and frustration. Thank you for being God sent, Kausalya! Love you to the moon and back

Anju Maudgal Kadam and Ally Matthan: Thank you for this wonderfulpact! I have been a happier person since I joined the pact because of how happy I am when I wear sarees, because of reading stories of other women and because how my timeline is filled with so much colour and beauty!
