Yay! So I made it happen! I wore a sari and went to my bestie’s house for a Ugadi lunch and to celebrate her newly built, dream house! It was the perfect occasion to wear a sari and even the husband’s summer shorts and a concerned – “Are you sure you are going to be comfortable wearing a sari in this heat, honey?” did nothing to dampen my enthusiasm – thanks to the inspiration provided by all the lovely ladies who have been wearing saris and posting pics these last weeks!

I do have to confess though that I started out tripping and fussing all over myself and it took me about an hour to get dressed. But somewhere in the midst of the madness I told myself, ‘Babe, to look good its important to be comfortable in what you are wearing. So just take a deep breath now and become one with the sari’ And lo and behold, as if by magic I was suddenly wrapped up in this blue beauty, feeling a totally delicious ‘I am wearing a sari feeling’! Ok and no prizes for guessing this one but guess what was the first thing I did after that? Made a few selfies of course!

So darlings, here are a few pics of a beautiful Handloom/Ikat sari I bought from a Odissi weaver at a handicrafts exhibition. I had wanted an ultramarine blue cotton sari and so one fine winter day I went out purposefully and found this one. But the tragedy was that this baby has just been sitting in my closet, always being admired but never worn – until the #100sareepact came along!
