Obon is a time when Japanese pray for their ancestor’s souls and many festivals are held with Bon Odori (a traditional dance form with taiko). This year I thought of matching the ladies in yukata (summer, cotton kimono) with a bit of Indian flare. Taken at the Kanda Shrine in Tokyo during the Noryo Festival. Absolutely loved how this simple, polycot from Kerala created a warmth with the shrine doors as a backdrop.
