A friend of mine always says there is much more to sarees from the south than the
kanjeevarams and I agree with her.

The blue is a mangalagiri from Andhra and the cream is the kasavu from kerala.
The other two are from Madurai. They have this typical non-zari but golden, silk-thread,
woven borders which contrast beautifully with the rich colors of the sarees.
And they usually have the elephant or the annapakshi motifs woven like
buttas in the body and pallu.

All of these were gifted by people very dear to me and know how much I love handloom sarees.
