#100sareepact #sareesin2016

The perfect summer printed cotton that drapes like a dream and fools everyone into thinking it is a silk . I love the colours and the design and the kalamkari Pallu and everything about this saree from Madras . A gift from my sister Raji .

I named it the Tea saree for the colours reminded me of a nice kullad full of garam masala Chai .

Chai brings me to Chai for Cancer the project closest to my heart . A unique awareness and fund raising tool that I have put in place to serve the needs of Friends of Max and the deserving cancer patients who make up that support group . Many of you my co pacters have already embraced this . Is it

Coincidence ? That I went today to meet with the two young men who are in charge at Society Tea ( remember Hasmukhrai & Co?) wearing my Chai Saree ? Chintan and Karan Shah young enough to be my grandsons and so enterprising what with that streak of compassion and sincere recognition of a social cause in their consciousness . So they confirmed that third year in a row they will donate their tea for as many Addas as we will host to raise funds . None like you guys . And we need more like you !

Photo credit to Azim who managed to find the spot from where we could get the beautiful building I wanted in the frame . Parel , where the Society Tea office and warehouse is located was bathed in a Chai wala golden light too .
