So there are a zillion colours that exist and I’m sure about a zillion more waiting to be discovered.
But nothing like this four letter word…BLUE!
I dont have favourites because I wouldn’t want it to resonate in repetitive work and I believe that each colour has potential…it just has to be treated right!
But there’s just something about this colour that’ll draw you in & quench your mood!
As someone with even a slight creative tangent…its easy to fall in love with colours and texture right…well, then you’ll know how I feel towards our blue.
Unconditional and pure…
Whether it was the vast blues of the Bay of Bengal, while growing up in Chennai…
or the blue throated Neelakanta as Ardhanarisvara who illustrates how Shakti, the female energy is inseparable from him…
or even the blues of copper sulphate and cobalt chloride which kinda inspired me to choose an unusual specialization combo of chemistry with dress designing in school…
or the mystique and power hidden in stories of the Sapphire…
or the crushed turquoise that adorned Egyptian royalty…
or the blue stained glasses of the catherdrals I saw in Europe…
or Van Gogh’s ‘Starry Night’ while studying art in college…
or even the whimsical custom of searching for ‘something old; something new; something borrowed and something blue
sigh…
People have written songs and poems and even named children after you… if only I could write an ode to the many moods of blue whether youre an indigo or a lapis lazuli!
There surely is something about you BLUE!
So I walked through the stores with this antique pure silver gold border in hand to search for its pair…and I found it…mera wala blue!
Well, my tailor attached the border upside down and because its an old border–it wont last the restitching.
But surely my blue will be back in a new avataar!
