I learnt about the #100SareePact quite a bit after it had actually started and I always wanted to share some of my saree stories. So today on Republic day I am sharing my first post .A love for Kanjivaram saree never fades. A beautiful orange coloured Kanjivaram saree with pink and olive green border I picked up in 2002 .It has been 14 years and this saree is as fresh as ever. Golden zari is shining as ever as it was .In love yet again with silks and the journey of Kanjivaram collections started with this saree.
I love to wear saree. I grew up saw my Ma, Bua Chachi,Masi in gracious sarees . But its sad that my generation has given up !! Now days wearing saree in public places is like next to be peeled off from stares of males and females alike. We love to spend on branded western attire rather then empowering our own artisan our own culture. Wearing sarees is so graceful and sensuous that makes a women feel beautiful and empowered. For me wearing our traditional weavings is a perfect way to pay the artisan a tribute .‪#‎BeIndianwearIndian‬
