The beginning of the much awaited Festival of Lights deepavali!! Happy Deepavali to all!! Began the day with a lovely programme of Hindustani classical music right at day break! The melody quickly washed away something I was upset about in the morning!! There possibly can’t be anything more peaceful and blissful than good classical music!! The day was busy with preparations for the puja this evening, interspersed with work. All set for the puja- the house decorated, the lamps lit and the puja thali filled up!! The sarees today – a red half byloom and half tissue saree from bailou with golden butti bought ‘just like that’ a couple of years ago! The other one – a bottle green kanjeevaram saree with traditional golden butti all over and mustard border, lovely elephants on the border. This saree is very special to me – a gift from my mother on the occasion of the baby shower (dohale jevan) when I was carrying my first born! He and me together did the puja this evening, amidst a certain satisfying peace – a must mention that he stayed at home even while his friends played in the garden, only because I was alone at home, till the father returned from work and the younger one came back from play!! My sweetheart and personalized photographer too!!
