Saree #38

FInally after two years of being married, this saree from my trousseau sees the light of the day. My first day of trousseau saree shopping was at Nallis, South Extension, New Delhi with two friends- Sharmila and Priyanka! I have always admired Sharmila’s saree selection and choice so I was over the moon when she happily agreed to accompany me to the mecca of sarees smile emoticon
The minute we walked in, the saree that was eventually my reception saree, was draped on a mannequin. It was removed from the inanimate object and draped on me within minutes and added to my pile! smile emoticon I ended up with 9 sarees in one shopping trip and my mom was freaking out sitting in Lucknow, thinking I’d lost it. But I know my mind when it comes to sarees, and obviously she loved each and every one of the beauties I picked up that day.
The saree I wore yesterday, is also such a gem that was chosen by Sharmila and me from the scores of kora silk sarees on rolls at Nallis. Fortunately for me, they had just received this stock a couple days back and we were spoilt for choice! We ended up with two sarees- one for Sharmila and one for me smile emoticon It’s a gorgeous soft lemon yellow kora silk with a salmon pink, delicate half inch border. I decided to get the blouse made in this pink itself to amp up the colour quotient.
Wore this for a friend’s sangeet and thoroughly enjoyed the punjabi raunak there. Was almost close to being in India
