It’s a very special evening tonight. My dear father-in-laws birthday. Time for family dinner. Junoon is the unanimous choice. Delectable food. Happy conversations. Seeds of plans for the next vacation.
And then from behind the kitchen walks out the man who’s raised Junoon to Olympian heights. Chef Vikas Khanna. With a million watt smile. An infectious energy. An endearing simplicity. He talks about growing up in Amritsar. His mother and grandmother. His early days in America. And personally gets his signature masala chocolate cake for the birthday boy.
We are touched. Very very touched.
I wear a maroon black and green Pochampally today. Complex intricate patterns woven lovingly on the silk canvass.
For sure an evening to remember.
