I am so happy to be part of this historic movement! Hats off to Anju and Ally. Hats off to social media. Stumbled upon #100SareePact on Facebook through friend of a friend. My love for sarees naturally lured me to follow the blog. Finally after a lot of hesitation and inhibition, I jumped into the Pact, and my journey begins…..
#1/100SareePact
Where I live, we celebrated Dasara in temple close by this past weekend with kids participating in cultural programs and RavanDahan. I wore this silk saree, Dharmavam silk with beautiful embroidery work. which I bought on impulse 10 yrs ago just for the love of colors and workmanship. The sales guy tried very hard to convince me that it is Kanchi silk, which I know that it is not 🙂 . It is a 2 shade silk weave, with warp-parrot green, weft-golden yellow and beautiful violet zari border/pallu. And it is the only dharmavarm silk Saree in my collection.

Even though I bought on impulse, I ended up draping it first time for my daughter’s bharatanatya rangapravesam 10 years ago and got lot of complements for color/workmanship. Had a great memory for me and my daughter. By the way she loves sarees too. And perhaps it runs in the family, as my mom has passion for collecting variety of sarees.
