Saree #29

I gave this indigo, dabu print to my mother as a present from Fab India a few years ago. This last trip to Lucknow when she handed me a few of her sarees to keep, this made it’s way into my wardrobe as well.

Got a cotton block print blouse made to go with it, and I loved the feel of this soft cotton saree all day long. I think I may be leaning more towards handloom cottons and silks compared to my earlier fascination with chiffons. I just feel more at ease in these six yards of softness.

I am wearing my usual high heels, pants and a shirt to work today, and I must admit, I don’t like myself in this attire anymore. My work dressing has been more Indian these past few weeks comprising sarees and salwar kameez, and I somehow prefer those to my pants! Dresses are still kind of in my good books so far–feminine and fun 🙂

I was made to pose and look sideways by a colleague of mine who is a pro at posing! so here is a very ‘posed’ picture in the indigo saree!
