I pulled out this vintage weave from my wedding trousseau for going green this chaturthi.

The saree is a maheshwari silk with golden thread work (not zari but silk thread), in the form of floral buttas and a superb pallu design. I treasure this saree so much that I rarely wear it, but now I think I should drape it and enjoy it more often.

I also want to share a go-green message I read a few days before Ganesh chaturthi. Instead of buying idols and immersing them (even in artificial ponds), get a keep-sake Ganesha and do pooja to this idol every year. Symbolically, one could make a small Ganesha out of turmeric, as we usually do in all poojas, and dissolve the turmeric Ganesha for visarjan.

I thought this was such a lovely idea to go green, hence wanted to share it here. May the Lord’s grace touch everyone.
