4/100
Family isn’t always blood. It’s the people in your life who want you in theirs; the ones who accept you for who you are. The ones who would do anything to see you smile, and who love you, no matter what.
The #100sareepact has brought together one such virtual family , spread across the globe and bound by one sweet common thread of the saree. Each morning I religiously log on to FB instead of the morning newspaper to be greeted by now familiar and beautiful faces and dedicatedly go through the long posts because the accompanying stories bring us another step closer to knowing each other better; to sharing our sorrows and joys; to new discoveries; to newer emotions. We sincerely post well-thought of and well-phrased comments for each one of them not for any selfish reasons but because we have grown to love them. Such camaraderie is rare. Such bonds are unique. Such emotions are unparalleled. Such generosity and spirit is unmatched.
I am glad to be a part of this family and dread to think what I would look forward to when this iconic year of the saree movement comes to an end.
This is a half and half printed silk bought on an impulse although I have not quite warmed up to the concept.
