16th November 1860 the first Indians arrived in Durban South Africa on board the Beveder and Turo, Indians worked in the Sugar plantations and railways. Indians in SA built their own schools, Temples and homes . Temples were built to keep all the traditions from our Motherland India alive. There is 1.4 million South Africans of Indian origin in South Africa. We still many Indian Languages and celebrate all traditions with fervour. We still eat only Indian foods, dal roti rice . Only difference our food is much more hot than India. Most of all we still wear Sarees in South Africa after all these years we still hold India very close to our hearts and its our Motherland. South Africa is home but India is Motherland. Very strong bond with Inida.
