Halfway home in a Kantha
50/100
To celebrate my fiftieth post on the saree pact, I chose one of my favourite sarees. It is in the purest blue of the sky and the mustard yellow of the fields.
It is not a traditional kantha work saree which was generally done on pure tussar. This one is a modern version on printed pure silk. I didn’t have a kantha in my trousseau since I never liked the conventional kind which was only done on tussar coloured sarees.
This was picked up much later from a friend who had brought back a few from her visit to Kolkata. I liked that this one had bright colours along with the beauty of an art form. I also loved the pattern on the aanchal which is more geometrical and unconventional.
The road shot is courtesy the fact that both me and my daughter (who happens to be my official photographer for the pact) are on our way to school.
I had lost hopes in between of even reaching the halfway mark but it was only due to the love of my fellow pacters that I trudged along.
