Last year in September we were at our farm. I had carried a couple of blouses, but no sarees, since raiding my mother’s & mother in law’s wardrobes is a done thing.

So I got out this soft pink cotton from her cupboard and spent the morning with my daughter collecting flowers for Ajoba’s pooja, watching the hens cluck around, before making halwa and puri and chana for everyone.

The farm hands generally indulge me by paying me rich compliments for my simple north Indian cooking. I am the bahu, of the Maharashtrian household, that can drive an excavator truck on the farm #sareefrommypast #kadamfarm saree #75
