This saree story is about serendipity with designer consequences.

Some years back my mother had given me a saree for my birthday which was just a few days away. I had a matching blouse, so I hurriedly gave it to the tailor for fall-beading, to get it back in time for my birthday. Neither the tailor nor I noticed that it had an attached blouse piece.

While draping the saree I thought it felt extra long as I managed to get nearly 10-11 pleats. That’s when I realized that the pink part must be the blouse piece and not the pallu! I had a good laugh telling my mother about it when my parents called to wish.

I kept the saree as it is…I think it looks better this way:-)
