Half a day of FB and whatsapp friendship day messages made me sit back and reminisce all the great friendships and bonds I’ve developed over time. Needless to say friends are ones lifelines.
Childhood friends made in school and the neighbourhood for the sole purpose of having someone to play with but only valued later in life. Cousins who were always the first close friends with whom we shared and kept secrets and connived in naughty plans.
Friends made in college where friendships involved sharing each others crushes and heartbreaks…the fun and madness of camps and festivals…the group studies and coaching classes which led to more such bonds.
And then in the journey of life…friends who came and left adding value to life and friends who simply clicked without any effort. Friends who were there through highs and lows…through thick and thin.
When I took up a job as a teacher. ..I had colleagues who made working fun…learning together. ..cribbing together…going out for movies and lunches..
Friends who came together for a common cause…friends having a shared passion ….aka virtual friends, blogger friends, FB friends. ..friends whom you’ve never met before yet their views and likes are important for you.
I feel blessed to be surrounded by friends in my life who add that extra spark or zing to life which keeps you roaring…alive…and going. And thanks to FB for keeping us all connected.
As the tag line of a popular ad goes ” Har ek friend zaroori hota hai”
Coming to the saree …it is a traditional cotton Dhakai in royal blue with a pink border and a woven palla in pink , yellow and green and small bootis all over.
Happy Friendship Day to all of you and I treasure each one of you.
