If it weren’t for her, the #100sareepact would never have happened. She had heard me say several times last year, and the beginning of this year, that I wanted to start wearing the sarees I had, more often. First patiently, then impatiently, she’d remind me of my intention.

Till she got tired of my talk and posted a photo of Neena Gupta, the actress, on my Facebook wall. Neena wore a burnt orange saree, a blue blouse and a big bindi in that photo. And kusum wrote – ” you’d totally rock this look. When are you starting to wear your sarees ? ”

I was looking at my computer screen when the phone rang, it was Ally calling. I told her I really needed to start walking the talk and the pact was born between us to wear sarees one hundred times this year.

Meet Kusum Rohra, the catalyst that made the #100sareepact happen.

Former techy, now entrepreneur, mad hatter, good friend, risk taker, sees things through to the end, starting her second store on Saturday.

A few of us went to help her set it up and look at all the lovely stock that she has sourced for the store.

Kusum, it’s my turn to say it. You & Gauri Syal are gonna totally rock Indiranagar.
