26/100
After nearly a brief lapse, I am happy to be back with the program! As many of you know, I recently made the transition back to the USA after living in India for the last two years. Tonight, Veronika, Sue and I celebrated my retirement from IBM after a 31-year career. We had a delicious Indian dinner at Junoon in NYC and it was especially awesome because it was shared with great friends. I’m also proud to say that it was a HUGE honor to wear saree #26 which belonged to Ally Matthan’s grandmother. It is made of beautiful, iridescent burgundy silk with a fabulous splash of pink. In fact, this is the first saree I’ve worn since being back home. I just know that this saree holds many layers of life experiences – which makes it all the more special. It is a joy to now “make this heirloom saree my own” and know that it has the capacity to absorb many more memories into its folds. Thank you Ally for the incredibly kind gift! I love this saree and had such fun wearing it tonight. Thank you to my friends Sue and Veronika for the lovely night out in NYC.
