Saree #15

My MIL was an air-hostess with Air India in the 60s and 70s and apparently her wardrobe was full of chiffons, georgettes, crepes and organzas at the time. She’s preserved a few of her heavier silks beautifully, but most of her airline sarees were given away as gifts, etc over the years. This is one of those rare ones that she still had and gave it to me since she doesnt like wearing chiffons anymore.

One doesn’t get prints like these anymore so its very precious to me. The material itself is very very delicate, and has become sort of frayed over the years. I know that i wont be able to wear it often without it tearing it apart :(. Hence, I’ll be more cautious and ladylike with this one 😉
