That morning on my bed unmade
I sat cozying up with the sheets colored jade
And watched you, as next to me you laid
Awash with twilight’s colors, a beautiful parade
A morning of bittersweet emotions, a cascade
Only you with me, away everyone else stayed
Grabbing you, I remember, you felt as smooth as suede
To the dressing room – a beeline we made!

I thought about you today, after more than a decade
I opened the drawer slowly – very, very afraid
Bracing myself, expecting to see you frayed
But was relieved to find the 6 yards of ombre sepia shade
Intact and ready to envelop me once again, in a soft serenade!!
