This indigo blue chanderi Saree with lotus motifs was bought in the same shop where I got the Saree which I wore in #PrettyPink. It was to a book launch held at Mumbai’s iconic Royal Opera House which has been restored and opened up for events. As soon as I stepped into the foyer I caught my breath at the lovely statues and chandeliers that lit up the white and gold patina on the ceiling. It was a special evening made even more special by running into fellow 100sareepact-er Viji Venkatesh who has compiled her 100 Saree pact photos into an exquisite coffee table book. The author of the book Chandrahas posed as well. And what do you know I met Victoria Burrows a Londoner, at the after party wearing a Saree with as much ease as an Indian.
Loved your saree, Uma! My very bright pink Rjasthani saree was a gift from one of my friends in Delhi (she knows how I love bright colours!), and it was the first saree I ever wore. I also have a peacock-blue saree in Chanderi silk – Chandrahas will have to write another novel quickly so we have another book launch to get dressed up for.
