\nTodays Story is about An Average Woman…We are so addicted to hearing Inspirational Stories..that we have lost the Charm of looking for the ‘IT’ factor in all things average and mundane!
\nA Child-woman who grew up on the outskirts of Naginahalli…
\nfrom a well to do family..
\nfaced the loss of both parents at the age of 11…
\nwas stripped off all material things and married off at 12 to a widower who had a 7yr old of his own.
\nA Woman, as the village would say-
\nwho looked Beautiful!…
\nwho cooked wonderfully!…and
\nwho donned the most purrfect Rust- red-Circular kumkuma on her forehead!….and
\nwho boasted of A ferocious temper to match….!
\nthere are these stories that if she didnt find the handa of rasam to her mark..she would carry it across and fling it into the nearest nallah and start afresh…all this in an age when good women could never ever afford to display such temper publicly.
\nWith 11 children to rear and being a widow at 30…she had almost always managed to retain her child like humour and enjoyed life to the ‘T’…A woman who was colorful and yet lived devoid of colors for the next 45 years…
\nWould I call the many such Child-Women’s Life Average?
\nToday was the yearly Shraddh ceremony of my Grandmother at Pejawar Mutth…something we have been attending for the last 27 years…I love the food and the drive with my parents.
\n( They love to see me drive….all the more so when the car is driven by a kanchi-cotton saree clad chauffeur!) Finally Silver Jubilee….
