I am really growing up.Thank you, 100 Sareepact.<\/p>\n<p>First &#8211; I wore a cotton saree &#8211; Yes, as strange as it may seem, I don&#8217;t wear cottons. Always felt that it stood like a tent on me. With mom being at home these days and watching her cottons, I decided to give it a shot. This is her saree and who doesn&#8217;t have a green blouse.<br \/>\nSecond &#8211; I ditched the heels and wore flats. With my height, I have not worn sarees without heels in the last 17 years. No matter what. I just couldn&#8217;t. Today I just had too much getting around to do, that I decided to just wear flats.<br \/>\nBoth worked super fine&#8230;<br \/>\nSo, about the saree, My aunt (mom&#8217;s older sister) used to work in a temple a while back. She used to cook the prasadam on important days. This was a wish-fulfilling temple near Chennai and a lot of devotees donated sarees to the deity. As temple practice, those sarees used to be given to married women, and this came to my mom.
