Its A Hot May Day…My 11 and 13yr olds have wished me Mothers Day!-A lot of Hype surrounding this Day….(Thats what Me Thinks!)
\nAsked my hubby to drop citing reason that I couldn’t drive in A Kanjeevaram Silk.
\nMorning Time—-
\nHad been observing Sanjana frm my neighbourhood since the last 6 years..Had told the sir before he even took her under his wings that this girl is someone to watch out for-Classical Bharatnatyam- related.My kiddo opted out of the class to take up Odissi..but sometimes watching others Do well makes you swell up..today was Sanjanas Arangetram…was Extremely Happy to see her do exceptionally well..!
\nAfternoon Time—
\nA place called Kudhitini (Bellary District)had etched beautiful memories in my 6 yr old mind then…A place of Limited resources albeit gave me enough memories that can fill up pages of that phase spent in my cousin-Hanumesh’s Home.Today ‘H’ has come a long way from that Kudhitini home to buying his own place here in Mumbai…yet maintaining the same Core Nature of Humility and Hardwork..Attended H’s Grihapravesh…Surprisingly didnt feel the heat amidst cousins cacophony of snippets from the Kudhitini Era… !
\nDrove my cousins around Mumbai for 6 hrs nonstop in the same Kanjeevaram Silk..!
\nHome had beautiful surprises frm the 11 and 13yr old respectively for Mothers Day(wish they would do it more often tho and not wait for a particular day to make such beautiful cards!)
\nMust mention here that my Mom -A lady who has lived so frugally all life..used to take me walking some 5kms to Matunga-Lakshmi Silks to pay 10 rupees Every Month towards some saree (chit fund) so that end of the year you could buy a Kanjee Silk of your choice.When I went with her this one time and picked up some kind of raffle…she seemed to have won a major discount on this 33 year old saree!
\nTo Date Small things never fail to Give Me the Biggest kicks in life!
\nOn second thots…Should re-start the Saree Chit (fund) scheme Maybe-What Say?
\nWho knows one Bright eyed 5 yr old accompanying her mom to see colorful Rustling Silks and Handwovens may just plan to Return back to her Roots!!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
