I have always been a handloom person and have never bought a chiffon or a crepe. This one is my first, and only, chiffon… a gift from a cousin. I never wore it until now… found this floral print boring and felt chiffon simply isn’t me! Until two days ago when I had to get dressed in a tearing hurry (it was annual show day at my little son’t school and we were getting rather late)… I finally pulled out this saree because pleating this saree might take less time than my cottons. I must admit that it did save time and this saree also felt very comfortable on that incredibly hot sultry day… but still… I didn’t quite like my look. Threw on a long ‘mala’ of wood & rudraksha in an attempt to make it closer to my usual style and stepped out. [After all that morning what mattered was how my son looked and he was doing fine in a dinosaur costume!]\nLater in the day my husband caught up with us and he said he was surprised and delighted by the way I looked. He loved me in this saree so much that he immediately wanted to buy me more chiffons. Maybe it’s time I gave up my bias…
