\nSummer Vacations in my days used to be Train journeys to Chikkammas or Sushila Atte’s home..playing hide and seek with cousins..sometimes with monkeys too..hear the crackling sound of wood under huge black urns where water for innumerable people was getting warmed…waiting for the most healthy Hot food to be devoured in panktis(turns) best of all sleeping on the terrace st nights after u have laid out Ajjis bedding and u press her feet whilst listening to her sometimes exaggerated stories.
\nNowadays, Moms start planning 2 months ahead of how to keep the vacations fulll of summer workshops.2 years I avoided such WS..untill I came across one such simple story telling WS this year.
\nToday Heard My 11 year old Weave A Japanese Tale -Her Way….and how she recreated the story to her- In Awe Grandparents..!
\nYes,surely Times have changed!
\nA Cotton Central Asian motif bearing Ikat Saree paired with a Crocheted earring (had to wear it today)that the 11yr old had woven it.
