This is a rich blue polycot saree with white “buttas” all over it. I don’t have it any more, but it’s one of my most favourite memories ever.<\/p>\n

It was a couple of months after V and I had met. The day before my birthday, I called him up to ask where we were going for lunch. After discussing it, he paused and said, ‘I hope you’ll wear a saree.’ Smiling, I said, ‘Yes, I had planned to. Why? Are you particular?’<\/p>\n
