I used to always adore all the lovely sarees that my mom used to wear. In my medical school it was mandatory to wear saree for anatomy dissection class as a symbol of respect to the cadavers. My initial saree tying was very primitive with many occasions where I had to run to restroom as my saree would come undone in so many places :(.Overtime I got better at it. After marriage I got a chance to shop on my own and buy my sarees. I love to collect different kinds of sarees.<br \/>\nThis particular saree is a Bishnupur sonamukhi hand painted pure silk saree that I bought from my friend who has an online store(Atullyam couture). I wore this for my birthday in April 11th in sequoia national forest(backdrop is the bark of a huge sequoia tree).It had just snowed 3 days ago there , so it was very cold outside but my urge to wear a saree for special occasions is so strong that I had to pack this saree and take for my birthday. I paired it up with a sleeveless high collared orange blouse and wore it in the cold( I had ugg boots on to keep me warm and was wearing a thick coat all along which I took off right before posing for this picture :).God do I love wearing this wonderful six yard fabric that speaks volumes of our rich Indian heritage<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>1\/100-I have been a saree lover since my childhood days.
