Well, a rough estimate of how long I’ve been wearing sarees is around 35 years and this picture here was shot at Vaman Brothers’ studio in Chetpet in 1977, the year I finished my graduation in English Literature from the Ethiraj college for Women, Madras. Although mightily embarassed to pose for a photgraph with the graduation robe(every studio had these), it was the done thing after we finished college and we did it for our parents for whom this was a proud moment! Such pictures were treasured possessions of each household.<\/p>\n
