Anju Maudgal Kadam.. Here I am.. Bringing 60s-70s lifestyle of a typical Indian woman in a saree..
\nBored of giving same poses everytime.. Wanted to try out different things in saree.. I just wanted to feel how my ‘Kittajji’ (my mom’s mom) used to tie the saree the whole day and did all the household chores around-the-clock.. I cannot recollect my mom doing chores in saree.. Because she was more of a ‘nighty’ woman .. As our Manju (maid) is not in town, had to anyways finish all the chores.. <\/p>\n
>Around 7am, draped this cotton Bandini saree which was given to me (just like that) by my mom 16yrs back.. <\/p>\n
>Started my day with ‘jaado-poucha’ (yesssss. I could hv used a mop stick, but didn’t want to..) <\/p>\n
> Next – ‘Bartan-manjna’ (washing the vessels) age-old style..sitting.. <\/p>\n
> Later – ‘Kapde-dona’ ‘and ‘Sukhaana’ (washing the clothes & put it for drying ).. Hmmm. I could hv done this with the washing machine.. But how could I ?? Did my ‘ajji’ use it?? NO.. <\/p>\n
> Inbetween – had to feed our Shiny (our doggie) <\/p>\n
> Then – a little bit of cooking (I couldn’t hv done this if my Mother-in-law was at home. Luckily she is in her daughter’s house) <\/p>\n
> @ 11am, Got busy in my salon.. Did I ever in my 10yrs of beauty career, have attended a client in a saree ???? GOSH.. <\/p>\n
Enjoyed doing all the work .. Effective & traditional way of doing household chores in a saree.. You squat, you lunge, you crunch, you get upper body workout, you sweat, whatnot!!!!! <\/p>\n
Try out ladies.. Definitely most of the Indian ladies are still following the age old methods.. But are we??? Give it a try.. You will feel awesome.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
