\n… \u2028Most of my sarees are bought on a whim .. I can at the most share a footnote , never a full story ! But this shocking pink Kanjeevaram does have a story ! My husband proposed to me in several ways .. Sweetly , jokingly , threateningly .. For about 4 years during the time we were seeing each other ! I was never quite ready .. Some excuse or the other .. He now says he always knew it was going to happen , just a matter of time .. Hmm . \u2028Anyways .. So his brother was getting married and we were doing rounds of saree shops to buy gifts for his family . I am a good person to go shopping with ( free open offer to anyone who wants to go with me ) . I don’t tire , I don’t exceed budgets and I have a keen eye and know where to get what<\/p>\n
Okay .. We finished shopping for everyone and he said I want to buy you a saree too .. Choose something nice ..\u2028I made the customary no sounds , he had already spent way too much .. But he can be stubborn as a mule when he wants something . \u2028We bought this shocking pink Kanjeevaram for me .\u2028He said to me much later that the moment I said okay let’s buy this , he knew I was going to accept the proposal soon . That was jan 14th . Feb 14th on valentines day he asked me again .. I guess I had just run out of excuses and here I am !
\nI can’t end the story without a mention of my little neice who loves sarees as much as I do ! She is wearing my moms Mysore silk .. And somehow looking. Cleopatra-ish I think
