They have this typical non-zari but golden, silk-thread,<br \/>\nwoven borders which contrast beautifully with the rich colors of the sarees.<br \/>\nAnd they usually have the elephant or the annapakshi motifs woven like<br \/>\nbuttas in the body and pallu.<\/p>\n<p>All of these were gifted by people very dear to me and know how much I love handloom sarees.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A friend of mine always says there is much more to sarees from the south than the kanjeevarams and I agree with her.
