wore a handloom saree wid batik work on it..n accessorised it with silver oxidised earrings n bangle with jhumkis (forgot to take a picture of myself wearing it..so added a separate pic of d bangle itself)..half of d saree has batik flowers on it n d other half has batik stripes..totally different is d pallu which is in a solid colour of light purple..in all d saree is quite ‘hatke’..n oh so soft..
\nWhen i write my saree stories i try to make my descriptions as accurate as possible..for instance about d color, d texture, d weave or even d feel of d saree so that d people who r reading can get as perfect an idea as possible about d entire six yards ..while writing for this post however i was a bit confused..coz even though d saree seems to b a combination of magenta and black, fact is dat d black isnt black at all!!..i ransacked my mind in an attempt to find just d right word for d unusual dark shade..
\nBut all that i could come up with finally was..’bruises’..yes d color is a blackish purple shade just like d one we get in drying up bruises..d ‘black n blue’ kind of thing..as we say in bengali..’kalshite’!
