Not sure of the origins of this saree. Looks like a Poona cotton to me. Kind of remember Dad buying this years ago before I shifted to Pune. No point checking with him; he wouldn\u2019t remember a saree he bought this morning \ud83d\ude42 Mom has no clue either. And the only help Di could provide (it is her saree, or at least was, till I rescued it from the treasure chest) was that it was her only Maharashtrian saree and she wore it with a long sleeved maroon blouse\u2026<\/p>\n
So with this sketchy background, here is saree # 32. A non descript grey cotton, with a lovely border in red, white and gold. The cotton is super fine and drapes very well, with a smooth feel that stays in place all day long. The saree has fine vertical white lines running all through it, which give a lovely sheen to the otherwise dull grey.
